L Wellington
Information
2006 1.65m Chestnut Swedish Warmblood Gelding
Competing in Intermediare II Level Dressage
Ridden by Edgar Hodges
When we first saw Wellington as a young stallion, we thought that he was about one of the gentlest and calmest stud colts we had ever seen. His sire is well known for his calm demeanor, but Wellington takes that to the extreme. We weren't particularly looking for more stallions at the time, but then we thought about what an excellent junior mount he would make as a gelding. Once the surgery was approved by his breeder, we knew we wanted to take him home.
Wellington did very well in the ride over to Castrol's rented stables in Sweden. Though he is a curious young horse, he stepped off the trailer like he had done it a million times before. His kind eyes are stealing the hearts of all of Castrol's staff, and he is just being a dream in training.
His demeanor and mental ability make Wellington a great steady competition horse for Castrol. We hope to keep showing him and gain him a reputation, and then re-evaluate his potential as a sire or as a gelding prospect.

A sound mind is something that every sporthorse needs, and "Trumpet" has more than enough to go around. Just a level headed, willing and capable mount that never failed to impress. A successful competitor up to Fourth Level and dam of several successful Dressage mounts as well.
